3 summer hacks that makes my life easier

3 summer hacks

I have three products that make my life easier and I am going to tell you why. These 3 summer hacks (life hacks in summer) are good all seasons, but especially in summer I can’t live without them. So let’s start with number one.

3 summer hacks www.sofarsosabine.com Bjorn Axen dry shampoo Dior self tanning creme natural glow Sephora bronzing oil

1. Sephora Illuminating bronzing oil

I bought this bronzing oil at Sephora recently and it helps me looking bronzed in just seconds. I think it’s the best one of my 3 summer hacks. I wear a lot of skirts and short sleeves in summer and I have a very light skin tone. In Sweden there’s not that much sun all year and if you don’t go on a holiday, you usually turn into a person whiter than the snow here ha ha. So in summer when you think you have a little bit of color on the skin, this product just helps to make you look shiny, glowy and a little bit more bronzed. The product makes your skin looks hydrated too, since it’s oil. I love to make my skin summer ready in seconds and that’s why this products just touches up my skin. Instead of using a bronzing make-up powder to get the result; this will do the work much better. This is not a self-tan product.

2. Björn Axén styling powder dry shampoo

This dry shampoo from Björn Axén is a power product which I stray on my scalp, just a bit on the side of my head. I lift up a bit of hair and under it I spray some of this dry shampoo. Why do I do this and how does it help me? In summer when it’s warm, my hair gets oily much faster. I don’t feel like washing my hair every day and besides that, it’s bad for my hair since I bleached it. Washing my hair every day will make it dry and damaged more. At least, that’s what I experience. So this product gives me a fresh touch up. My scalp smells fresh and clean. Besides that, this product makes my hair lifted up more. My hair gets so much volume straight away. Again in seconds I feel fresher, more feminine with a lot of volume and it also prevents my scalp for getting more oily. What is a good trick, is to put the dry shampoo the night before you actually want your hair to look good. In the morning the volume is all pumped up and the dry shampoo became one with your hair and head. Give it a try =)

3. Dior bronze self-tanning creme natural glow

Since I use foundation every day, my face doesn’t get a lot of sun when the sun is actually shining. Besides that I use a high SPF to protect my skin. I don’t tan so much in my face and that can look again pale and boring in summer. Who wants to look pale and boring? I don’t. So what do I do; I use a self-tanning creme. This Dior creme is specially for the body. I always use it on my face too, even though it’s not made specially for the face. It works for me, but I should recommend you a self tan for the face. In that case, you can try the exact same tanning creme from Dior, but then it says ‘face/visage’ on it. The ingredients will care more for your facial skin.
Anywas, why this is my third summer hack is because I see so many people (men and women) with legs whiter than milk, but with bronzed arms, shoulders and face. And that’s not so nice, is it? So how easy is it to use a bit of self-tan on your legs the night before you’re going to wear shorts and in the morning waking up with bronzed legs. That first day in the sun, you look perfect and the contrast isn’t that big. Your legs will get tanned by the sun then as well.
Oh, and yes of course you can add summer hack number 1 on top of it!

These 3 summer hacks make my life easier. I look better in just seconds (and one night of sleep).
What are your 3 summer hacks?
I would love to know more of these getting-ready-fast-tips now that the summer heat has started, even in Stockholm.

Have the best summer ever!

With lots of love,

Sabine

I love to see these summer hacks!! It’s always good to cheat your way into an even more summerish complexion and look.

I like to do dry body brushing every day to softly exfoliate my skin and to stimulate blood circulatiom for a fresh look. Besides that ive been addicted to body lotions whom make my skin a little bit more glowy! And last, but not least is daily use of a good footcream! After a pedicure feet may look nice, but you want to keep them up to date. So daily footcream applications it is?

I have a light brown skin so #1 and #3 are not really applicable to me. Lol. I have heard about dry shampoo and I think that it’s an interesting product. I want to try it but I believe that the brand you have is not existing here in the Philippines, so I’ll have to look for a local brand instead. Hopefully I can find one! 😀

I have quite darker skin and I get tanned straight away. My summer hack is how to keep the tan, as in the UK, same as in Scandinavia, the sun is precious. So i am using a tan maintaining cream that I got from Boots. It was shimmer particles in it, which I absolutely love.

Keeping the tan is not always easy indeed! Great that you use this maintaining cream. Good idea for me too!

    Sabine,

Life hacks. Ok, here we go.

    1. I do not need to use bronzing oil because during summer, the sun is out and it could be 34C ~ 38C here. What I do need is to stay in cool places. My top pick is inside a mall. :)

    2. Because it is HOT here, it is impossible not to take a shower every single day, and when I do, it is automatic – I don’t think about it. I grab my Sensé shampoo and conditioner and hum while I merrily wash my hair.

    3. I don’t need to use tanning cream because wherever my body part is not covered by cloth, it is sure to be exposed to the sun. You see the pattern? The sun loves me and refuses to let me out of her sight. So, what do I do? I oblige. I love the sun too, so I could take a walk everyday and absorb the heat. Not too long though… my favorite chair in my favorite coffee shops needs me too. Spending an afternoon chilling is a must do!

I’m not familiar to your 3 summer hacks Haha but here’s mine:

    1. Most important, always find the shadow. I’m actually working outside, all the time. It’s quiet exhausting to be 8hours everyday among traffic under the 30° sun, so I always try find shadow not to get insolation.

    2. WATER. I’m a geek, I usually stay home in the dark with air conditioner in summer and I was only drinking soda. But since I started to work outside and under the sun, I’m ONLY drinking water now, and I’ve never drank so much. One bottle per day at least, always fresh. It’s a must have.

    3. Clothes. I wear a uniform, with loads of gears. Unfortunately I can’t change that, but I always add an extra shirt under my uniform to sweat into that shirt and last longer the day. And when I got home, first thing is take off everything to get into some freshed and chilled clothes. Loads of showers, loads of whasing machine.

Summer is almost over here in the Philippines but since this is a tropical country, I can try these products too. I am curious with that dry shampoo since I am born with a brown skin, I think a little dash of bronzer will make me look like I just got back from a holiday in an island.

I never heard of dry shampoo until now but I think I could really use it! I usually ride public transportation here in the Philippines and after one ride (just one ride) – my hair immediately gets oily :( I think it’s because of the pollution. Anyways, thank you! Will definitely check this out.

Summer just ended in our part of the world, it’s already humid and rainy here in the PH. :3 But to be honest, my top summer hack is to just bring a face and body sunblock in my bag, also a pair of hair ties(it can be scorching hot and if I have my hair down I sweat even more) and also a hand held fan. Goodness knows once you commute here in the philippines, especially manila and it’s summertime, you would want to not just have a fan, but a whole big rechargable electric fan. for your cooling pleasure. hehehehe

Anyways, enjoy your summer there, and I wish to see more OOTDs and beauty hacks from you soon! 😀

My summer life hacks would be:
    1. Take a bath at least 3x a day.
    2. Wear clothes made of thin materials (e.g. cotton)
    3. Drink lots of water! :)

Summer here ended just a few days ago so we welcome the rainy season now. Hope you get to try summer here in the PH!

I always use a after sun lotion with a bit of shimmer in when I start tanning , on darker skin it looks so good and it keeps the tan a bit longer as well . I am very careful with any kind of self bronzer , I know nowadays most of them are pretty good and won’t leave marks , but years ago I have used a self tanning cream before we went on holiday ( you don’t wanna be the only white chicken when arriving , do you ?! ) . After applying the cream all over my arms and everywhere it strated raining …. no need to tell you what I looked liked . Polka dots , say no more ! That dry shampoo sounds promising , great for the hot summers here ! And I think , a good dry shampoo is the best way to get some more volume !

Sabine, I love all your beauty tips! I want to go out and get the Sephora bronzing oil right now. (We have tons of Sephoras in NYC.) I am of Irish ancestry and very pale, so I always need anything that will make me not look like a ghost! My big summer tip is spray on sunscreen. I usually just use Neutrogena. It’s easier for me to apply so I don’t burn.

These summer hacks are on point. I myself put on a little bronzer for the glow. I did not know that you could do that with dry shampoo. The way i used it is before i leave the house 3 spray to be exact. I will definitely try this right now so that i get more volume. My summer hack would be hydrate, more sunscreen and natural blush for a little glow because I live in a tropical country.

It’s funny how we react on a similar (well almost) the same situation. Ladies in our part of the world would want to have lighter skin, and are willing to spend money just to attain the complexion similar to yours.

And because of the humidity adding up to the summer heat, we spend more time on beaches or swimming pools. If not, we just bath at least twice a day.

The dry shampoo is my all time favorite summer product. But I usually make my own at home by adding fresh ground coffee to baby powder and it works like a charm for me. Will definitely give a try ti products you recommended.

I was so happy to see Sephora in the first picture. I’m huge Sephora fan :). Though I’ve never used bronzing oil. I’m very very pale/ white (Just some freckles in the summer). But I’m always a bit reluctant with bronzers (either oil, or cream anything!). I’m just afraid it will look bad (unnatural or non-unifrom). What would yoou say: Are these easy to use for beginners? Or should I be really careful in using it, to avoid looking too brown/ unnatural?

I love Sephora. I honestly am not one for bronzer because my skin is pretty dark naturally and I find it makes me look orange but I seriously want to try the Sephora bronzer you wrote about especially if it improves the quality of your skin. We girls all have those beauty products we can’t live without, thanks for sharing yours.

Ooooh, great tips esp for those in your country and in similar weather.. Where I live nobody needs a bronzer as everyone is brown enough I think what we need is just the shimmer, and nobody needs a dry shampoo cos we shower at least twice a day cos it’s too hot hehe. I’m glad sephora just opened an online store for us and I’m excited!

I got so interested in this post since it is already the start of Summer in our country. I could relate with you even though I do not live in Sweden. I also have a very white skin, but in our country, people want to have more white skin. It is for that reason that majority of our beauty products here are whitening products. I would like to try those that you endorsed. I hope I can find something like that here in our country.
