Today I will tell you all about eyes from Clinique. Clinique tells us;
“This lightweight eye cream diminishes the appearance of puffs, undereye circles.”
How is this in reality and how did I come up with using this eye cream?
When I was shopping at Douglas in Utrecht, the Netherlands, I got this eye cream as a tester. I tried it out back in Sweden since I have a lot of eczeem usually around my eyes. It comes and goes. I tried a lot of creams and usually they help a bit, but then it gets worse again. This has been going on for a period of 2-3 years. Usually my skin around my eyes is sensitive to cold and dry air. The air is pretty cold and dry in Sweden, so that doesn’t help. The GP here gave me different medical creams with chemicals, which I hate to use, but even that didn’t help. I accepted the fact that the skin is dry, red and even itchy sometimes. I didn’t want to use so many eye creams, because I was afraid to make the redness even worse. I was afraid that eye creams could maybe cause allergic reactions to my eye skin. I’ve tried a lot of brands.
About the under eye circles and puffiness; I really feel better using this cream, but I can’t say that my dark color under my eyes disappeared. There was a slight improvement however. I see this difference also when I use other eye creams. So it does what it promises.
Then I tried the tester of Clinique and the dryness and red skin became less. First I thought it was a coincidence, like I said, sometimes it’s less and sometimes it’s worse. I applied the cream twice a day on my eye area and eye lids too. Then when the tester was finished after 2 weeks or so, I stopped using it. The redness was pretty much gone, my skin looked hydrated and then I thought it would stay like that when I would stop this cream.
What happened when I stopped using it?
The redness and dry skin came back after about 5-7 days because I stopped using All about eyes from Clinique. I was a little bit disappointed that it came back. At the same time, I was happy that I found the solution to my eye skin problem; applying this cream two times a day.
I decided to buy the All about eyes cream from Clinique. Then I applied it again and even faster this time, after about three days, the redness and dryness went away. I’m using this eye cream every day and night, which is really light and feels more like a gel. It’s absorbed really fast by my eye skin. It does not make my make-up fade away or anything. It’s a really good base in that way for eye make up. On top of the eye cream I usually apply concealer. When I don’t apply an eye cream first, the concealer gets dry and starts to go into my fine lines around my eyes.
The eye skin doesn’t get oily after applying. You don’t feel the cream coming into your eyes. You won’t get sticky lashes, like you would get when applying a very oily cream (which you might do when you’re skin is so dry and irritated).
I can really recommend this eye cream, especially if you have redness and/or dry (itchy) skin around your eyes and you don’t want to use medical creams from the pharmacy. The cream is really affordable and costs about $32 / 30 Euro / 345 SEK (depends where you live and where you buy it, online or not).

2 May 2016 at 13:39Ja, het was een zoektocht Christa. Was heel fijn en toevallig ook. Welke creme gebruik jij?

2 May 2016 at 09:31I’ve have tried a few but the One that works for me is sisley eye and lip contour cream. I’ve heard great info about cliniques also.

2 May 2016 at 13:40I know this one. I have used it also! I got swollen skin from it around my eyes and lips. With the lips, it was good, since I have not so much lip ha ha. But for my eyes it didn’t work, but it’s not that the creme is bad; it’s just me having a difficult skin there.

2 May 2016 at 11:32This is funny because when I was first introduced to this eye cream I also received it as a tester when I purchased make up in Douglas in Vienna. I really liked it and have been using it for about a year now without complaint. I like it’s lightness and lack of oil as I have extremely sensitive skin.

2 May 2016 at 13:41Oh really! In Vienna! Good marketing for all about eyes then! Yes, it’s so soft and nice!

2 May 2016 at 12:04Very effective review. Because you have a result when you are using it and when not. I guess the product is for you. Wonder if it’s available here in the Philippines.

2 May 2016 at 13:43Must be, I assume. It’s a world wide brand, isn’t it? I recommend trying the small tester of all about eyes if they have it there as well. =)

2 May 2016 at 13:16I wonder what is the cause of puffiness and reddish skin? Looks like it works well for you so it must be good.

2 May 2016 at 13:38Yes me too Robert… I would love to know why I have this eczeem. I have it on my elbow too. Only one elbow.

2 May 2016 at 16:42I love this brand of products and actually got a tester of this eye cream that I haven’t used yet. But after reading I might have to! I am interested in how it will affect my skin since you had such positive results! Isn’t it funny how they really get you with those samples!
sofarsosabine
3 May 2016 at 14:58Yes those samples are really smart. This time it worked big time. I like to try perfumes as well, using those samples. All about eyes of Clinique is really good to try Alison. I hope you’ll like it.

2 May 2016 at 22:32Goede review.. Alleen vind ik het zelf nog iets te “duur” voor een oog creme!
sofarsosabine
3 May 2016 at 14:59Ja, dat snap ik. Maar na 2-3 jaar rode oogleden heb ik er wel 30 euro voor over =) Zelfs wel meer.

3 May 2016 at 14:27Heard so many good reviews for this product! It’s a little hard to find here in the Philippines but I’ll be putting it on my things to buy list! Hehe. Hope I get good results!

3 May 2016 at 15:00Maybe you can ask a sample. Even if it’s for 2-3 days (like they fill a small sample cup for you). Or feel it on your hand. It’ really soft and nice. It might be sold in the bigger malls there?

3 May 2016 at 14:32good products. But, i, personally don’t use many creams and products on my face. You gotta take enough sleep to avoid puffiness. ALso, for eys, cut to cucumber round slices, lay down, close your eyes and place these on your eyes for 10 minutes. works

3 May 2016 at 15:00Great. Do you also have a natural ingredient agains eczeem / redness and itchy skin? Would love to know that!

4 May 2016 at 01:30I also have dark eyes and a problem with puffiness. I haven’t really found an eye cream that works one hundred percent for me. Clinique is easy to find, and that price is certainly reasonable, so I will give this one a try. My skin can be sensitive, but it seems like this cream is really gentle, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

4 May 2016 at 08:38You never know, it might be as perfect for you as it is for me =)

4 May 2016 at 01:58Hi Sabine! I don’t use any eye cream right now. I’m not fond of using makeup as well. Basically, I hate the sticky stuff. Good to know that there’s a lightweight product out in the market. My mom is a fan of clinique, so I guess their products are really good.

6 May 2016 at 00:24Hi Nina, everyone has to do what feels good. Great that your mom is a fan too. Is she only using good products?
Nina Sogue
6 May 2016 at 01:07Well, she’s a fan of “branded” ones. Not sure if she’s picky because of the brand or because of its effect. Haha.

4 May 2016 at 22:04I’m glad that you were able to find a product that works well for you. Clinique is a trusted high end brand and though I’d love to give it a try myself (I read somewhere that once you hit your 20s, you should start investing in eye skin care) but it’s pretty expensive here in the Philippines (Php 2500 or about $53).
sofarsosabine
6 May 2016 at 00:26Wow 53 dollar, really? That IS expensive! In case you would visit Europe, you could maybe give it a try. Or ask someone of your traveling friends if they might go. Otherwise, I would try something cheaper first. This is almost twice the price of the same product here…

4 May 2016 at 22:45I once had a sample of this and loved it, I only used it on days that I had major puffiness though! But hearing your battle with dry skin I have to say I might give it a go, the last month a very dry flaky patch has appeared on my lid, I’m sure it’s safe for the lid??, if so I will have to pop into Clinique and grab a pot! Excellent review and I’m so glad it’s helped you!
sofarsosabine
6 May 2016 at 00:27Yes, it’s safe to use on the eye lid too. I always do that! Thank you Georgia, I hope it will work for you too, but I’m almost sure, since it worked so well for me. =)

6 May 2016 at 16:53Thanks for this Sabine! I’m always on the lookout for good eye creams. Unfortunately I inherited my dad’s eye bags and dark circles plus I also have under eye wrinkles now that I’m older. Right now I’m using Philosophy miracle worker. Planning to complement this with Benefits puff off.
will let you know how that combination goes.

8 May 2016 at 02:40Im not using an eye cream. Rarely put foundation and make up too. I just use pressed powder and lipstick and im good to go. Reading your post made me realize the importance of an eye cream. Its sad though you have to apply everyday in order for the puffiness to be concealed. But then again, its a nice product that serves its purpose.

22 May 2016 at 15:21Clinique offers a wide range of excellent performing products. But I am not a fanatico of this brand for I find it expensive.

23 May 2016 at 20:01I was very interested in this review as I too suffer from eczema around my eyes – Mine is due to being allergic to tree pollen from Feb to June. Last year it was very, very bad and it was November before it was relieved. This year it has been clear. It doesn’t affect me in winter! I use a product from my pharmacy called Epiderm every day & night. I also use moisturiser & eye cream. I might give this eye cream a whirl – I have been using English Rose Cosmetics Eye Cream – which is good also.
