Jamie’s Italian Restaurant
I hope you like Italian food, because I will show you Jamie’s Italian Restaurant in Stockholm today. This place belongs to the famous Jamie Oliver. Jamie is such a hype worldwide. I had to go there and taste the food for myself, since I’m a huge fan of Italian food.
Jamie’s Italian was founded in 2008 in Oxford. Jamie Oliver has now over 40 restaurants worldwide. More restaurants are coming. Jamie Oliver stands for:
“Good food for everyone, no matter what”
The Italian food is rooted in authenticity. They use the finest ingredients every day, from UK and Italy.
Back to Stockholm. When entering the restaurant, I find myself walking on a red carpet. I love that! Who doesn’t? The restaurant is located next to/in the Scandic Anglais hotel. This is at Stureplan in Stockholm. One of my favorite areas as you may know. Entering the restaurant, there was a lot of fresh products, a big bar, a lot of wood, couches and chairs, some mixed styles. I felt home right away. There’s a lot of space and lot’s of light close to the window where we were seated.
Debora and Magnus (two friends of ours) have been here a couple of times. This was my first time. I took the Penne Pomodoro – 165 SEK – Sweet tomato sauce with garlic, basil, mascarpone, mozzarella, Bella Lodi & herby breadcrumbs.
Mache took the Penne Carbonara – 175 SEK – Crispy chunks of smoked pancetta, sweet buttery leeks, lemon & a creamy carbonara sauce.
Debora chose Jamie’s Ceasar Salad – 165 SEK – Crispy romaine & red chicory with crunchy croutons, shaved cauliflower, garlic yoghurt dressing, Bella Lodi, red onion, toasted hazelnuts, chervil & sweet basil.
Magnus took the platter of the day; pork. 185 SEK. Pork meat with vegetables. I don’t really have the ingredients of this plate, because it’s different every time.
All the four of us liked the food a lot. Magnus ate a bit of Maches penne, since he wasn’t completely full. For Mache and I was the portion too big. I would recommend to take the smaller portion with a side salad for example. It depends if you’re a big eater or not.
Of course I had some expectations going to Jamie Italian Restaurant. I adore Italian food, I was hoping it would reach the level of food experience in Rome and Florence when I was there a couple of years ago. And it did. I tasted Italy when I was there… Well done Jamie!
