Koh Phangan | One night in Thailand

One of my dreams is to visit Thailand, one day. This is a big wish for years. Mache and I have talked a lot about visiting this country together with Mason and hopefully, in 2019 this dream may come true. However for now, we had one night in Thailand; we went to seriously, the best Thai restaurant in Stockholm, where I felt I was in Thailand (even though I have never been there haha)… The name of the restaurant is Koh Phangan.

Koh Phangan

The restaurant we have visited Saturday night is located in Södermalm (south of Stockholm). But this restaurant has a location in Östermalm and Uppsala (another city in Sweden). So a total of three restaurants. I visited the place in Östermalm as well, in summer, sitting outside on the terrace. The quality of the food was similar to me in both places. The food is just ALWAYS good. The service is always friendly and fast.

Child friendly

We were placed on a round table, where was some place to crawl for Mason, on top of the benches we were sitting on. This was such a good idea and super child-friendly of course! They have a special kids menu as well. I’ve seen a bunch of IKEA baby chairs too. So lot’s of place for the little ones. What Mason loved were all the lights, there is so much to see as it’s a dark restaurant with neon colors everywhere.

The menu

From chicken, meat, vegetarian to a kids menu, everything is basically possible. There are ‘not-hot’-dishes and if you dare, you can eat very spicy too. I love how the food is put on the dishes; just so festive and happy. Beautifully decorated with flowers, fruits and colorful plates. Yasssss!

A place full of screaming children? No, not at all. Actually, since a lot of tables are covered with leaves and bamboo (plastic ;)) around it, there’s a lot of privacy and also sound reduced seats. I was breastfeeding (the usual… I know) Mason without feeling that I had to cover a lot, since no one was really able to see Mason drinking with me. Not that I am ashamed, but I rather don’t show my breasts too obvious, now that the little one loves to interact in between and let’s go of the nipple a lot as well haha… Okay, before we start having too much details on the blog; let’s continue with this amazing restaurant and hot spots (since there are three).

Oh yes, romantic… So yes, Mache took me once here before, when we were dating and I never even noticed the children back then. It could be that I had too much eye for my husband (boyfriend back then) however, ha ha. BUT really, give it a try, since it’s really like you’re in a different world for a few hours and the food is good, fresh, brought fast to the table.

Our food

I took the “Pat Thai Kong” = pad thai with shrimps.
Mache took “Gai met Mamoang” = Thaiwok with Chicken.
Mason took mommy’s milk 😛

Afterwards we took desserts as well; I had the tropical cheese cake and Mache the fried banana. Mine was just perfect, Mache said, he would have liked the banana a bit softer. However he didn’t complain while eating and finished his plate, he he. I’m sure if he would have complained, they would just take it back. That’s speculating however. Anyway, take the cheese cake, because it was amazing. Got some passion fruit with it, my totally favorite fruit. Nom nom!
I brought a banana with me from home for Mason as a dessert. He had some bites.

Go to: Koh Phangan – visit their website!

Okay lovelies.
Do you have any recommendations of children-friendly places (all over the world, I’m ambitious). Share it with me, yes please, leave a comment darling!

This was not a collab. Just some looooove for a place.

Living in the moment.

Embracing Thai food.

Back home now from our trip to Thailand – it was short but perfect.

“Hope to see you soon again, Koh Phangan!”

Vind het zo fijn klinken dat je iets meer privacy krijgt door de afscheiding tussen de tafels. Zeker omdat je nog bv geeft. Restaurant ziet er heel tof uit!
