Last Monday, Mason was already seven months. My goodness where is the time going? It’s really unbelievable!
Here an update about month six and seven.
From about 6,5 months, he started to crawl. Sometimes he’s crazy fast and sometimes he’s not that motivated and crawls a bit, but I’m surprised he crawls as he’s pretty young still. However, we don’t push him to go forward, he’s just very interested in the dogs and crawling to them. Especially Bobby is a big interesting toy in Mason’s eyes. They are becoming more and more friends. It’s so nice to see the bond between them! Pascha is a bit more calm and likes to protect Mason. Being around and keeping an eye on him, is enough for him at the moment. I never leave the dogs alone with Mason, since they are still animals and you never know what could happen, even though I trust them!
As mentioned before on this blog, we started feeding him according to “Kleintjes” or “Rapley”. He’s getting the food by himself, pieces of fruit for example. He eats better and better, I follow a schedule which indicates which fruit and vegetables (and other food) he can eat from 6 or 7 months on. I don’t like to give him mixed food. No meat for him yet either. Everyone follows what they think is best and this is where we stand for. Mason is growing very well and he’s nice and chubby, like a healthy baby! He’s laughing a lot. He’s interacting with people, he recognizes different family members and he’s social. I must say that I am still his big favorite, probably because he’s enjoying the breastmilk a lot. I will keep breastfeeding him until he feels fed up, or until I had enough. But for now, it’s still my favorite thing to do! It’s so special to have fed him for 6 months, all by myself.
I was expecting some troubles with sleeping, since we were traveling to the Netherlands for Christmas and now we are in Drenthe (also the Netherlands) in a resort. A new bed once again, but he doesn’t mind. He sleeps whenever he has me around. A milky before sleeping, some cuddles with mommy and he can be up in the bed alone for several hours. He’s a good boy! He still come in the night for a cuddle, a bit of a milky or some safety with me or my breast, but I don’t mind. It’s not long, it’s the best for him and it’s so great to have him close to me. Even in bed. He doesn’t cry a lot, he never had actually. He gets all he needs and sometimes I put myself and my needs away for him, but this is exactly how I want him to grow up. He is so special to me and so wonderful! I couldn’t ask for anything else. It’s good for his sugar level in the brain, not to sleep the whole night (according to “Stefan Kleintjes”), so I’m not worried about this. Co-sleeping feels right for us, while doing it safe.
Mason is an active baby and he likes to explore! He’s easily bored an needs new toys or new games to keep him interested. Interaction with me or other adults is fun. Also seeing other children or babies is something he likes. We went to Monkey Town in the Netherlands and now in Hof van Saksen, we play indoor in a place for children, where he can “climb” and crawl safe. Sometimes he pulls himself up and he stands all by himself. He makes more and more noises and I can tell the difference when he likes or dislikes something by the different “words” he says.
We went to baby swimming in the Netherlands as well, where my old ‘badmeester’ (swimming teacher), Arie badkanarie, was doing the lesson! That was so much fun. He is a swimming teacher for over 31 years.
He’s in size 74 mostly, depending on the brand of course. In the Netherlands, I like the clothes from HEMA, since they are good quality and I like the funny designs. I bought some clothes for him to bring back with us to Sweden. We went to the zoo for the first time also, in Emmen in the Netherlands. He loved seeing all the different animals!
Overall, there’s not so much to write more about him. He’s doing great, we are one happy family, even though the big sister is missing. It’s a new year, let’s see what 2018 will bring to us and to Mason!
