Yes guys, Mason is two months already! To be official, yesterday he was. Is the time not flying like crazy? I’m gonna tell you all about what is new since he was one month.
Mason is two months
The biggest change is that he is laughing so so much! Every morning and sometimes in the middle of the night, he laughs with a lot of sound. Big smiles on his face. It’s incredible and it makes me so happy! He’s a lot bigger of course too! When he was 8 weeks, he was 57 cm and 5.165, exactly 2kg more than when he was born. He’s eating good (only breastmilk still) and he’s getting chubby. It’s so nice to see the baby fat on his legs and arms and cheeks.
His first wedding
He has been to his first wedding. Our friends Christa and Pontus were married last weekend. It was a three days long marriage weekend! So much fun. There were a lot of people from the Netherlands and Sweden. Christa is Dutch and Pontus is Swedish. Their situation similar to my husband and I. Since I am Dutch, Christa and I connect extra well.
I had to find Mason an outfit for the wedding and bought him a bowtie. I ordered both daddy and Mason the same color, which was matching to my dress. He looked adorable! Everyone loved him in the wedding. He has been good the whole weekend! Didn’t cry, there was no drama. It was fantastic to carry him and dance together on the dance floor. It was so much fun to spend time as a family. We brought our dogs (Bobby and Pascha) with us also. A friend of the bride took a great picture (hereunder) and you should totally check her instagram account. She has a great feed! (@heimarlou)
You might have seen it on my instagram stories that we have stayed in Trosa, the dogs were welcome in the hotel. We booked the mini suite in hotel Bomans. It was a beautiful suite, spacious and had a very luxurious bath tub. We were welcomed with bathrobes and lots of other luxurious items to feel home. The breakfast we had on Sunday was made of fresh waffles and croissants! So yummy!
Diapers diapers diapers! Mason is using a lot of them, of course! I went to a mommy event in Stockholm when I was still pregnant. I received a lot of goodies from Minstingen. Mason is now using the diapers from Minstingen, size number 3. I can recommend the diapers. As they are thin and light for Mason to wear but do their work perfect. I love the cute elephant print on the front of the diaper. It makes me happy every time I change his diaper. It’s easy to see which side is the front in that way. The diapers fit well. They are easy to close and change.
Minstingen is Swedish and can be bought online or in the local supermarket (Willy’s and Hemköp for example) here in Sweden. The brand is focussed on children up to 6 years, but sells nursing pads as well for example. Minstingen is more than just a brand and has a little world with animals like Kajsa the crocodile, Ada the monkey and Billy the bear.
Mason has found his thumb and is sucking on it now and then, just before falling asleep. Usually in the sling with me. It’s cute to see. He is lifting his head even higher than before. He loves to be on the baby blanket on the floor, looking around on his belly. He likes to lay on his back in the baby gym that we have for him as well. He likes to look around.
He has met the daughter of good friends of ours and they really made eye contact. They were ‘talking’ to each other and it was so much fun to see. She’s exactly 7 weeks older than Mason and they are about the same size now.
Mason came with me to the mommy and baby work-out too. He was laying on a blanket with another baby there also. The instructor carried him while I was working out and that was so much fun. Mason behaved so well! It was outdoor and in the end he even fell asleep in the Bugaboo! He still prefers the sling (baby wrap) over the Bugaboo, but when he’s happy and awake, I take him for walks in there. I find it much more easy to go out of the house while carrying him in the sling. Although I have been to the city center of Stockholm with the Bugaboo.
His first flight
Soon (probably in September), we will fly to the Netherlands for the first time. My family and friends will meet him there. I am so excited to show him! It will be his first flight. It’s only 1 hour and 45 minutes, but I’m curious how this will go. I will give him my breast when we take off and also when landing, so that he swallows milk and hopefully won’t feel pain in his ears. I think he will be just fine, I will carry him in the sling then also and he’s used to sleep in there, so hopefully he will.
This is it for now, I’ll let you know more later, when he’s three months old!
