I promised before; I would tell you about my medium poodle Pascha. After Bobby’s post, here is his big brother.
Pascha is a white medium poodle and weighs 8 kg. That’s 5 kg more than Bobby, so he’s quit bigger. He is 8 years old. Pascha has a different character but is as sweet as Bobby. He is more the good guy. The big teddy bear. He can stare at you from his dog basket and is loyally waiting for you to call him to come and sit with you. He likes to sit in front of the couch, in between your legs. He likes to lay down in front of your legs too, sometimes with his head on top of your feet. He is really loyal. Pascha is truly fan of men. He likes men more than women I think, although he’s always into cuddling with everyone.
He loves to follow the man of the house and be loyal to him. That showed when I was trying to teach him how to roll. He just didn’t got it I thought. I thought he was too simple to learn this. The truth was, when my fiancé believed in him and said he would teach him instead, I started to laugh. He checked a video on youtube and followed the steps in that video. Within one hour, Pascha could roll. That took me weeks and still he didn’t listen to me. Now after Mache taught him, he rolls as well when I tell him to. He is eager to learn from Mache. He looks up to him.
He loves to steal toys. When Bobby is playing with his teddy bear, Pascha wants to steal it from him. When Bobby gets the ball because Pascha stole the teddy bear from him, Pascha then steals that ball. It doesn’t matter what Bobby has to play with, he just wants to take it from him. I think that’s really bad of him, but it makes me laugh as well. Pascha isn’t bad to Bobby, he doesn’t attack him or anything. He just grabs the toy when he gets the chance.
Sometimes they’re holding both a side of the rope (another toy) and they’re pulling both ends. In that way, they keep each other busy. Usually when Bobby has been robbed from his toy, he takes a toy that makes sounds and Pascha gets attracted to the sound and let go of the first stolen toy. Then when Bobby sees that, he leaves the second toy and goes back to the original toy he was playing with. Bobby is in that way smarter than Pascha. Pascha just falls for it every time!
For the rest is Pascha a real hunter outdoors. He loves to chase cats and other dogs are not his favorite thing either. He is afraid of big black dogs and small barking chihuahua’s. He always wants to show that he’s the strongest by acting dominant. When he is on the dog leash, often he walks by without barking or acting stressed. It depends who is holding him though, he needs a strong leader.
He loves to smell every single tree that we pass and spends a lot of time with his nose in the grass. He is very adventurous and likes to explore. Last week, we saw a deer at night when I was walking them. He got very protective of me and at the same time, he didn’t bark or wasn’t aggressive. It was the first time he saw a dear in the forest here. I think he was shocked as well. Bobby started to bark however and chased him away. The dear got scared and ran off. Poor animal. I was happy he took off, because I was pretty shocked too.
Although Pascha is so different from Bobby, I still love them both so much. Pascha was actually my first dog, Bobby came to me a little bit later; more as company to Pascha when he was home alone. Now they are the best couple of dogs to have!
We love to have Sunday walks in the area Vinterviken. It’s very beautiful, with forest, a lot of grass and this nice cafe “Winterviken” where you can sit outside when it’s sunny and nice weather. This picture was from last weekend. We went for a big round of one hour walking and the dogs loved it. Pascha likes to be close to Mache when we walk. It’s really healthy for us to hike and it’s so much fun to see the dogs enjoy it too!
What do you think of my medium poodle Pascha? Do you have a dog as well? Please let me know in a comment. Oh and, ask me anything about those fluffies!
