thoughts and reflections

I had an idea of posting a little bit about some thoughts and reflections on my life as it passes by so fast.

Thoughts and Reflection www.sofarsosabine.com womenswear sunset Stockholm

We only live so short and do we have to only think about material stuff? My blog is filing up with a lot of material things. I am grateful for having them, knowing that not every one does. I am much much more grateful for the friendships I have. The materialistic things will pass by. The friendships will last. I hope. I care so much more about my family and their well being, than the latest trends on fashion. Still this side I keep hiding from my followers. I don’t know why, I guess that it’s nice to have a hobby which is superficial. To keep my mind from all the negativity in the world. All the wars. All the people suffering. All the babies dying every day from hunger, or begin born too early. All the negativity which I’m not going to repeat here.

My lesson is to live en enjoy even more. Enjoy the opportunities in life that you get. Grab them, do it! Follow your heart and dreams. If not now, then when? Do we need to wait until we are too old to run? You will regret it. Making mistakes is ok. It’s human. Every one does them. Is money your most important thing in the world? Is that all you’re chasing? Or is it love. Is it loyalty. Are your values more important than how you look to others? Do you want to look cool to hide your insecurities or do you just feel great about your life and do you share that with the rest. Sharing is caring. Lift each other up. Help your neighbors, help each other. Don’t be jealous of that car, the guy might even leased it. Don’t give each other bad eyes, but see the blessings of other people as a way to get strong. To reach your own goals. Get your inspiration from fashion magazines, if it helps you to look good. But only do it for you. Do what you want. Do what you like best. ENJOY your life. Every second. Pick your fights and pick your battles. There are so many minutes we waste on fighting about stupid stuff. Is it worth the drama?

How do you feel about life, enjoying the moment and what are your values?

Let me know in a comment. And let me know if you like more of these kind of posts…

Have the best sunday night (or any day of the week) for now,

Sabine

There is a difference between getting rich and being rich. We all are already rich if we choose to see and appreciate them. As for getting rich – obviously referring to finances, one could spend a lifetime chasing and still end up not having one dollar more than today.

And so, I tend to look at life differently than most other people in the sense that I find satisfaction being a person to have true value to others. I have had that motivation since I was a kid, but I was not brought up and lived to realize my purpose.

Now that I do, I can see why there is so much to live for.

Life is one big challenge in my opinion. It is so important to stay true to yourself, surround yourself with people you love and lift eachother up. I think its so important to live day by day, one step at a time. Set your goals, fight for what is important to you and stay who you are. In the end, we gotta make ourselfs happy, and see ourselves in the mirror at the end of the day.

I love that you are giving us such a special and personal view regarding your vision. As a friend, i am so proud of the woman you are. Your the most wonderful friend and i am happy to have you in my life!

Sharing is caring, and we lift each other up. Lots of love

I totally agree with you that the happiness that material things bring are just fleeting. We should give more importance on our family, friends, and even ourselves. Also, let’s just fill our mind and hearts with positivity so we can also encourage others and make their lives brighter. As for your question, “How do you feel about life, enjoying the moment and what are your values?” Honestly speaking, there are times that I feel frustrated because of work. However, because I know that God is always there for me and I have blogging as a hobby, I tend to become more positive towards my outlook on life. Currently, similar to you, I value my family, friends, my significant other and even the new relationships that I’ve formed. Hope you’ll continue having a meaningful and happy life. Have a nice day!

Hi Sabine, it’s nice that you’re thinking about these things. It’s rare that I get to read a personal post about this kind of reflection. I think life is a constant struggle between materialism and spirituality. By spirituality, I don’t mean religion but things that are truly important in life – values such as kindness, generosity and gratitude; keeping social relationships; helping other people in life; and so on. I think that when people get old and they look back in their lives, the happiest moments will not be those driven by material gains but those where we (deeply) love and are loved.

Thoughts and reflections are things we can only share and do together to have a good discussion from which we can learn. Thanks for being part of that!

I think many of us shares only a few % of life and what’s important. Some might get the wrong pic and think that WE are material persons, somehow that’s also what we talk and publish most in social media and other chanels, the beauty of this is that WE know what’s important and that we are blessed to have what REALLY is important in life, love! In love includes family, friends, ourselves and for human beings. Thank you for your reflections babe and congrats again with the blog, totally love it!

I was born three months too early and I try to love and live as much as I can. But, we are only human. We tend to like materialistic things. I have a fashion blog and love writing my reviews. It takes me to a place I haven’t gone before.

    Very well said Sabine!

There is more to life than money… People tend to limit their definition w/ wealth into material things, though it is important, there is more to life than it.

However, we can’t judge those who have known poverty, those whose teeth are decaying bec. to buy stuff for hygiene purposes is already luxury. Those people who will look for food on the garbage disposal, have it washed and cooked again so they have something to fill their (and their children’s hungry stomach).

These people’s definition of happiness is limited to having a place w/ roof over their head where they can find reprieve from the heat of the day, the rain drops and the cold of the night, and food for their tummies.

I hope those who are unsatisfied w/ what they have can appreciate it if they will just be aware what others are going through in life

Wow so many feels this post gave me. Where do I start. Okay, let me answer your question, how do I feel about life.

Right now I’m grateful, even when there are some things in my life in the moment that makes it hard for a person to be grateful. I am grateful because even things are rough there are people who really care about me. They make the fight easy, so to speak. And also, I have learned that worrying is counter productive.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think your heart is in the right place dear.

We are all a little bit guilty of being too concerned about what we have or don’t have. But as I’ve grown older I appreciate my family and friends a lot more than I used to. I still enjoy my material things, a good pair of shoes puts a smile on my face but ultimately it doesn’t make my heart sing like watching my daughter learning to walk. Or when she first caught a ball or put her shoes on without any help the first time. I would say I am rich in love and couldn’t be happier about that!

I so agree with you the materialistic things pass at the end all we have is friends and family. We are rich if we have the support of loved ones who stand by our side in our sad times. Beautifully narrated… :-)

For me life is beautiful as I got my husband and child. Its a boon that i thank God for each day
But yes the shortlived nature of the same makes me wonder from time to time if iam doing enough for my child’s future when I wony be there anymore but i think thats a a sentiment bound to be there for anyone you truly love

I think what really matters is that we are grateful for what we have. When we recognize our blessings the more we can share them to others.

I sometimes get obsessed with acquiring stuff too – but you’re right, at the end of the day it’s our relationships that matter. I’m very grateful that I have really good people around me and the most important thing for me is making sure I nurture these relationships. I love what you said about building people up and being true to yourself. I find that it’s especially hard to do both nowadays especially with social media. It’s a challenge to be authentic when everyone has an opinion about your life, what you post etc. And it’s very easy to pass judgment on people when what we see are just little snippets of their lives. It’s nice when I encounter people like you who encourage others to just be, if that makes sense. Live and let live right?
