Time to relax

Time to relax… It’s almost weekend. I wanted to tell you about how I take my time to relax.

What I lately do a lot, since the weather is much better, is taking hikes. I love to walk the dogs together or alone and my favorite place to do that in Stockholm is Vinterviken. This place is gorgeous. It has such a big lake and a real nice restaurant / coffee place called “Winterviken”.

When I walk there at night, when the sun goes down around 20.00 pm, I look a the unbelievably beautiful sunset. This is just breathtaking and it’s a real piece of paradise on earth! I really love to see the red, orange sky and the sun or the moon in the sky. This gives me the time to relax. It completely takes the stress away. We usually walk about 2-3 km.

The dogs love this too. They can run free and wild. They love to play with each other and chase each other. I enjoy when I see them having fun. It gives me so much joy to walk. When I was sick due to my pregnancy, I couldn’t walk for a while. Then I promised to myself; when I can walk again, I will always enjoy my two legs! It’s so true, because to walk, to run and to be free to go wherever you want is just amazing. We should not take our health or the ability to walk for granted. This is something I deeply cherish now. To dance, to smile, to laugh, to be free, to run into the world. Nature and animals always help me to stress down.

Last week when I was in the forest, I saw a squirrel, it was such a cute little thing. So beautiful with the orange brown color. This made me remember my holidays when I was a child. When I used to go to Centerparcs with my parents and brother. There they usually had squirrels.

Sometimes you just need to take the time to relax. Count your blessings. Be happy with what you have. Be grateful with all you own and WALK with your two legs. Run the catwalk or run at night outside. Run into the world… be free.. be you!

How do you take the time to relax? I would love to hear some advices to stress down after a busy week.

First of all, these pictures are gorgeous! I had such a lovely time when i was there and walking your cute dogs in the morning. I try to relax and stress down by going to the gym several times a week. This is the moment where i have absolute me time and nobody will bother me. Besides that, i also really enjoy taking my dog out for a walk, enjoy the nature and fresh air :)

It is so important to stay true to yourself and surround yourself with all different kinds of loving, inspiring people.

Want soms zijn onze hoofdjes zo vol he.. hahah. Schat, was leuk je weer te zien! Zullen we samen ook hier nog een time to relax doen? Het is te mooi om dit niet te delen! xxx

When I looked at your photos, I got this sense of calm and tranquility. Vinterviken looks beautiful! :)

When I want to relax after a busy week, I usually just stay at home, drink warm tea while reading a book and then meditate. Or I travel solo to a quiet beach, with my beach tent in tow. Philippines has got a long list of beautiful beaches even near its capital Manila.

Scorching heat at 36C, horrible traffic and chaotic, and noisy too, and I still manage to chill when I was walking earlier coming to this cafe where I am now. So imagine how much more relaxing it would be if I were to find myself standing by the lake.

That is absolutely gorgeous scenery and captured very well.

Thank you Robert. When it’s time to relax, you have to put your mindset like that. It’s easier with a sunset like this but it’s possible somewhere else too. You just have to say to yourself; now it’s time to relax!

Wow , STUNNING place ! As you know , I follow your blog regularly for your glamorous outfits , I was really surprised to read about ‘relaxing’ , as I thought , what a high – speed life always ‘en route’ from one shoot to the next one . How good to see you enjoying some time out ! Isn’t it like charging your batteries again ?! I love watching sunsets and I am really amazed , sunsets are a bit like fingerprints …. different every single day . I live on an island and oversee the ocean and another island from my balcony , walking my doggy as well at this time in the evening . How often do I just sit still and take a deep breathe while watching the sun go down slowly . How beautiful is mother nature ! These moments are priceless !

Your pictures are gorgeous and the description of the space around you, the peace you feel when out walking to de-stress really comes across in this post. As I was reading this, it reminds me of the Vienna woods. Love walking there as well. To be able to have those evenings with quiet and peace is so wonderful. I can completely understand why you love walking here. Your dogs are also so lucky.

I can definitely see why you’d talk a walk there to relax and why your dogs love it too. The place looks amazing, just staring at the photos made me feel calm and relax.

To relax I usually just listen to music and read a book. I’d love to take a stroll in a beautiful place too but it’s summertime in my country, not the best time to walk when it’s too hot outside.

This place is so beautiful! I feel peaceful looking at the pictures! I think being out in nature away from the rest of the world is a great way to get rid of the stress. I find that taking a moment to take care of myself is where I feel the most peaceful. Stress is able to melt away during those times. It doesn’t have a single place but I love being home.

    Hi Sabine,

I love the shots, the view of the golden hour is truly relaxing. And you seem to have a cutie combination of a black and white doggies :) Our sunset in Manila is normally a few minutes before or after 18:00 during summer. And I live just 2-3Km from Manila Bay, where the sun sets. There, I normally do my morning run or early evening walk. Here’s a view of Manila bay (hope embed works in comments)

We have another thing in common! I adore hiking for relaxation too! My partner and I are actually hiking 250+km on the West Coast of Portugal in 2 weeks!

The downside, is that we have to travel to get similar views. It is wonderful you have a place so easily accessible to relax and enjoy nature! (I haven’t seen a squirrel yet!!)

Yes, hiking is amazing. I have taken a picture of the squirrel with my phone, but was not that sharp as it was zoomed in. Hopefully I will get more opportunities to take one with my camera! =) with 250+km you surely have the time to relax! Wow, that’s hiking!

If I find myself in Stockholm, I would definitely visit Vinterviken too. Your photos look so relaxing that I want to be there. Anyway, for your question, “How do you take the time to relax?” Ever since I had a job and I started blogging, my form of relaxation these days is just reading other people’s blogs, proofreading the articles of my co-blogger, going to events we are invited in or just go on dates. How I wish I get some free time again to go hiking and enjoy nature too.

Lovely photos! Never been to Stockholm, but I’m lucky to be surrounded by beautiful nature here in Norway as well. Walking or hiking in the forest is also one of my favorite pasttime and destressing activity. Nature has this calming effect which makes us positive about the future. Aside from traveling, I also enjoy a hot cocoa or coffee or tea and just watching tv series, films or reading books to relax. It’s important to stop and smell the flowers from time to time. 😉

Wow! I love your photos. I’m enthralled by those overlooking the lake, especially that last four in this set. Beautiful. Sometimes I wish I could leave the city and live in the countryside like this for a few months. Maybe I’d be less tired, more grateful. You’re spot on: we all need to disconnect, to take a break.
