Week 31 | Pregnancy update

Week 31 already? When you’re reading this it’s week 31+1 already! 31 weeks done and still going on strong without any sign of pre-eclampsia or HELLP Syndrome. I am so happy. Time for an update.

Week 30

The biggest change this week was last Sunday; my birthday! I became 30 years old while being 30 weeks pregnant. That was such a coincidence. It feels great to have my life organized while being 30. We are married, our second baby is on the way and we live in a beautiful house that we own. I work with social media which I love and I’m enjoying our two poodles as well. Some things to be so grateful for. It was nice to have my mother around in week 30 so she could still see and feel the big baby bump. My brother will come soon also and my father was here some weeks ago. It’s nice to have shared the love with close family and the baby room is getting more and more ready! Soon more about that.

Week 31

I feel very heavy, I was very tired the last couple of days, but it could be also the weather here in Stockholm. Suddenly it was snowing again. So strange in April after having 15 degrees already the week before. Everyone is longing for spring and summer and so am I. The baby bump is now around 27cm and still growing about 1 cm a week lately. I already gained 10 kg and that is a bit of a shock, but according to the standards, this is completely fine and normal. It just sounds a lot I think! It’s healthy for the baby and good for the breastfeeding later on to have some extra kg’s now. I know I will loose them soon after the delivery again. Same thing happened in my first pregnancy. Apparently the last weeks in the third semester, you don’t gain so much anymore, well we will see! I’m not worried about it.

“My goal was to have a healthy pregnancy, not a sexy one” – Sabine

The baby is moving a lot and it feels great to have him around all the time haha. Sometimes when he hits my ribs it’s a bit unpleasant. The pain in my back and pelvis is worse some days than the other. We went to a Spa on my birthday and it was very nice to have a massage. I was laying on the table on top of a pregnancy pillow, so that I could still lay ‘on’ my belly. This was a whole new experience. Maybe I should book pregnancy massages more often…

Another thing this week is the sleepless nights. I sleep less, waking up from pain in my back and pelvis is common. I try to sleep or rest more during the day, that helps.

Our little boy

This week our little boy has developed all of his senses. He is ready to smell, feel, hear, taste and see. He’s feeling the inside of the womb a lot, I can tell. It’s such an incredible feeling. In three weeks from now his lungs will be mostly developed, that is such a milestone. In week 32 we will have the final ultrasound (I guess). Nothing planned yet after that. I am also writing a delivery plan, so we can think about how we want him to arrive to the world. I bought him a romper saying “Hello ladies, I have arrived”. Mache loved it.

If you are wondering about some things according to my pregnancy, please write me in a comment below.

Firstly, Happy Belated Birthday! 🙂 Glad to hear that your pregnancy is going well, he will arrive here before you know it. It certainly was a coincidence that your 30th birthday was the same week as pregnancy week 30. Hoping that you get more sleep in the next few weeks 🙂

It sounds like everything is going great in your life Sabine, poodles, husband and the second baby coming. <3 It's interesting that in Sweden you have an ultrasound after week 30, in Finland, there is two ultrasounds – 1 in week 10-13 and another in week 20-24. I wish you all the best! 🙂
